Trade Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt (Cairo, February 14, 1993)

TRADE AGREEMENT
BETWEEN
THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN
AND
THE GOVERNMENT OF THE ARAB REPUBLIC OF EGYPT
(Cairo, February 14, 1993)

The government of the republic of Kazakhstan and the government of the Arab Republic of Egypt ( Hereinafter referred to as the two parties).

For the purpose of developing the traditional friendship between the people of the two countries.

Wishing to further strengthen trade relations between the two countries on the basis of equality and mutual benefit,

Have agreed as follows:

Article (1)

The two parties shall, in accordance with their laws and regulations, promote trade between the two countries on the basis of equality and mutual benefit.

Article (2)

1. Each of the two parties shall grant the other party the most favored nation treatment in the following questions:

A. Custom duties imposed on imports or exports, including methods of collecting these duties.

B. The systems and the procedures related to the custom clearance, the transit, the storage, and the retransshipment.

2. Each of the two parties shall apply non discriminatory system, in regard of exported goods to the territory of the other party, as for restrictions concerning value or quantitative quottas, and the import and export licenses.

3. The provisions of this article shall not, however apply to:

A. Advantages and facilities resulting from the membership of either of the two parties in customs union or free trade area.

B. Advantages and facilities granted or may be granted in the future by either of the two parties to neighbouring countries in order to facilitate frontier traffic.

С Advantages and facilities granted or may be granted by either of the two parties to the developing countries in accordance with the general agreement on tariffs and trade(the GATT) , and other international agreements, as well as the bilateral and regional agreements concluded or may be concluded by the Arab Republic of Egypt with the Arab, African, and Islamic countries, and the general agreement on tariffs and trade.

Article (3)

The two parties shall encourage and facilitate contacts between their natural and juridical persons, through exchange of visits of delegations and businessmen, participation in fairs and exibitions.

They shall encourage the opning of branch offices of the foreign trade organizations, companies, firms, banks etc. in each other territory, in accordance with their national laws and regulations.

Article (4)

The two parties will make effort to promote trade between the two countries including joint organizations, commercial centres and other different ways and means of cooperation.
